Thanks for the information.

'Never ignore..' was not checked, but after running a backup with verbose logging it confirmed what I had suspected. Because I am backing up a list of folders from various drives, the top level folder will always be created, although all of the empty subdirectories are removed from it. So, for example, my Photos folder will, after seven days, have one full backup folder with all subdirectories and files, and, given that there is no change in seven days, seven empty folders ('Photos (Incremental)'). It would be nice if these otherwise empty folders could also be removed.

I've also noticed that my 'Downloads' folder, which I have situated in the root of one of my drives, gets a full backup each time and no incremental, and none are marked as such (no date, and no Full/ Incremental flag).

I have absolute paths turned on, but the behaviour with the creation of the top level (backup) folders was the same.

I see... so we are talking only about the root folder...

Hi Luis.

Has this setting been removed? I can't find it at this location (or any other options).

Thanks. :)

Ahh, I see. It's the Advanced Menu for a backup task. I was looking at the Advanced Menu for the app.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.

I have the exact same problem. Same configuration and also root directories that are empty are not deleted.
Is it a bug or is it a known "normal" behaviour ?
Is there a way to configure the program to get rid of these empty root directories ?

It would be great to have that functionnality working. In my memory the Gravity version of Cobian Backup was removing the root dir when it was empty.

thx for the help !

Root directories are never deleted as far as I'm aware.

As far as I remember, Backup did not leave empty root directories behind.

No it didn't... different behaviors... I'll try to mimic this in the future.

Fixed as an option (sigh) for the next version.
