Number of errors not shown in console or eMail attachment

Post by Todd »

Hi Luis,

Windows 11-21H2 Pro
CobianReflector-0.9.75.exe

See attachment for log settings.
"E:\" is deliberately full to trigger errors.

Number of errors not shown in console or eMail attachment. The reason this is important is that I have all my customers trained to look for the number of errors (sadly, it does not mean they actually will do it though).

This is Reflector's console message
2022-01-12 09:19:47 A backup has started...

2022-01-12 09:19:50 The backup has ended. There are errors. Consult the log file.

2022-01-12 09:19:51 The log files have been successfully deleted.
So errors do exist but their number is not shown.

This is the eMail body (see the attached screenshot for Body Text):
KVM-W11: Cobian reflector backup report for KVM-W11 Reflector Test:
Errors: 2
Backed up files: %BACKEDUPFILES

If
1) "Errors" are GREATER THAN ZERO, and/or
2) "Backed up files" are ZERO,

please contact your I.T. Support
As shown in my the $ERRORS variable, errors do exist. And also note that %BACKEDUPFILES is not yet implemented.

This is the eMail attachment:

The reason why the number of errors is not shown is that the file is ma9iled When the task is done. Unfortunately this means that the ending footer of the task :Number of errors, etc... is not written to the file yet when the mail is sent. After a task set is done, will have this footer.

This was not an issue in the old Cobian Backup. Would you consider using the same technique in Reflector?

I think you are misunderstanding the meaning of %ERRORS.

%ERRORS gives you the number of errors found in the log file(s) that are being send, not in the task per se. A mail can contain several tasks.

That would work for me.

Here is a last report in a multiple report attachment from a customer:
2022-01-20 19:26 Total backup time: 0 hours, 0 minutes, 27 seconds
2022-01-20 19:26 *** Backup done. Errors: 0. Processed files: 2845. Backed up files: 98. Total size: 2.30 GB ***
There is about ten of these in the attachment.

I would like to have this functionality restored.
