Backup new files only

Post by jmburton2001 »

I have a directory in which the existing files never change but new ones are added. Even so, every file in the directory is backed up every time. The new files that are added will also never change after they're backed up.

I have it running as an application so I can access UNC paths easily.
Version 0.9.55 Beta

Task Settings:
Full backup
Create new separated backups -> Not checked
Use archive attributes -> Not checked (tried both ways)
Use Volume Shadow Copies -> Not checked (files will never be in use)
Schedule -> Daily (most days there will be no new files)
Dynamics -> Defaults
Archive -> Defaults (no compression)
Filter -> Defaults (nothing)
Events -> Defaults (nothing)
Advanced -> The only thing checked is "Always create top parent folder"
Advanced -> Clear archive attribute -> Not checked

As far as the program "Options" I don't think I've changed anything from the defaults.

How can I have it backup only the new files and not the existing (already backed up) files?

But why is "Clear archive attribute " unchecked?

This is not the default, so it won't work for incrementals.

Full Backup will make no distinction between old and new ones, it will back up everything.

Don't use a full backup. But the most important, clear the archive attribute!
