Backup errors

Post by Mike »

I’m running Cobian Reflector on Windows 10 Professional 21H1. My backup strategy is simple - a full backup of a single drive once per night, maintaining 1 non-parked backup. Most nights, everything runs perfectly. However, on random occasions, something goes wrong as is shown by the attached log created on 2022-02-07 running 0.9.90 RC1. Examining previous log files, this problem also occurred on 2022-01-23. I’m guessing I was running 0.9.78 BETA or 0.9.79 BETA, as I usually upgrade to the next version as soon as it’s available. I’ve also attached a log file from a typical backup on 2022-02-04 when everything works fine.

Hmm... sounds like a unstable connection (bad cable?).

The next time you get the error, try copying the files manually to see if you get the same error.

It could be an intermittent hardware error, I suppose. For what it's worth, the log file dated 2022-01-23 actually contains 2 backups; the first one that had errors that ended at 02:35:40 and a second one that I manually started an hour later. It ran completely with no errors.
