Always backup all the files

Post by centinel » Wed Aug 21, 2019 2:36 pm

Hi!

I have Windows 10 and Cobian backup 11 Gravity configured for incremental backup (checked "use atribute logic" and "mirror task"), because I want to have a mirror copy of my laptop files in an external device (USD external drive). But when I run the task, Cobian always backups all the files, not only the new ones, so it needs hours to finish, even if there is only one new file. That is, it does not make an incremental copy, but a full mirror copy every time.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

Perhaps you are using Separated backups? Separated backups will always copy all files that are not found on destination (unless you tell the program not to do that in the options)

No, I don't have "Create separated backups using timestamps" checked.

Is "Clear archive attributes" unchecked? This must be checked for the archive attribute to work. Oh and the task must not be compressed if I remember it correctly!
