Binding to a flash drive

Post by mres335 » Thu Oct 10, 2019 4:48 am

Good day,

My first post...so hello to all!

I am presently using QTDSync for my backup application but would prefer to use Cobian.

QTDsync permits what I believe to be "drive binding" - or where a backup is bound to a particular drive.

Is Cobian capable of performing a similar operation? Please advise...and thank you.

Good day,

I would gather then, that binding to drives is not possible with Cobian?

I personally find this "feature" important, and therefore if this is simply NOT possible, I will have to consider other options.

This is really too bad as Cobian was recommended to me by someone I greatly respect and admire.

Update: Is assigning a persistent drive letter trustworthy - does this configuration always work? This option might be a usable alternative.

Hello!

You could use the %DISKLABEL parameter (see the help file under the Parameter link) to dynamically set the destination folder. You need then to be sure that your flash drives uses some unique drive label.
